Commercial Debt Collection Guide
Prepare a clear account history, understand the placement process and find answers to common questions before contacting Thrive Collection Services.
Prepare the Account Information
Useful collection information is accurate, current and easy to follow. Before contacting TCS, gather the records that explain the commercial account and how the amount now outstanding was calculated.
- Your business name and a contact who can answer questions about the account.
- The debtor business name, known contact details and relevant invoice or account references.
- Invoice dates, payment due dates and a clear statement of the outstanding balance.
- Payments, credits or adjustments already applied, along with dates and amounts.
- Previous account communication, promised payments and any known dispute about the balance or the work provided.
Keep invoices, agreements and relevant correspondence available. You do not need to place unnecessary personal or banking information into a general inquiry. Ask TCS how to provide any additional documents requested for review.
Check the Balance and Explain Any Dispute
Compare the amount you plan to submit with your current records. Note any partial payment, credit or adjustment so the account history and balance agree. If a customer has questioned an invoice, explain what was disputed and keep the related communication available.
Separate confirmed facts from assumptions. Accurate business names, invoice references and contact information make it easier to discuss the account without confusion. Let TCS know if new information becomes available after your initial request.
How to Get Started
Review Your Records
Check the current balance, contact details and account history. Identify any missing records or unanswered questions before you begin.
Contact TCS or Place the Account
Use the account placement guide to prepare, then complete the dedicated form. For general questions, contact TCS first.
Discuss the Next Step
Discuss the service terms, applicable fees and any further records needed directly with TCS. Keep your account reference available for later questions.
Common Questions
How do I submit an account?
Use the Place an Account form. If you have questions before starting, call (877) 259-5505 or use our contact form.
What are the fees and service terms?
Ask TCS to confirm the fees, scope of service and terms for your account before proceeding. The website does not publish a standard fee schedule or promise a particular recovery outcome.
How long does collection take?
Timing depends on account accuracy, available information, communication and other circumstances. TCS can discuss your specific account, but a fixed payment date should not be assumed.
Is recovery guaranteed?
No outcome is guaranteed. Each account depends on its own circumstances.
What if the account is disputed?
Identify the disputed amount or issue and keep relevant invoices, agreements and correspondence available. Tell TCS what is known, and ask what additional information is needed for review.
How do I make a payment?
Use the separate Payment Information page for the existing debtor payment workflow.
